  • Make sure your initiative is also accessible to people with disabilities.

How does it work?

Step 1: explore your idea

Discuss your idea with neighbours. Come up with reasons why it’s beneficial for the neighbourhood. people who want to help implement it.

Step 2: submit your plan

Once your idea is explored, submit your plan to the municipality. The application form asks about the who, what, where, when, and why of your plan, as well as financing details.

You can submit the form digitally or download, print, and fill it out manually. Forms are also available at the town hall desk.

Note: You may need a permit to carry out your idea. Apply for it in time.

The Municipality of Diemen can assist you in various ways to help implement your plan. The initiative coordinator is available to advise you, connect you with others, or provide additional information. You can also request financial support from the municipality to carry out your plan. The initiative coordinator can help with this as well.
If you need support from the initiative coordinator, you can indicate this in the registration form under the section for questions/comments.

Step 3: we review your plan and make a decision

After submitting your plan, the municipality will assess whether it meets the conditions. We may contact you to clarify certain parts or to discuss your idea further. If everything is in order, you will receive confirmation and can start implementing your initiative.

If we are unable to support the implementation of your plan or cannot provide (full) funding, the response will include the reason. You can contact the initiative coordinator for further explanation. There may be other ways to carry out your plan.

Tip: If your idea changes during the preparation—because something isn’t feasible or you come up with a better idea—discuss this first with the initiative coordinator. You received funding for the idea you submitted, and you cannot change it without consultation.

Step 4: carry out your initiative

Once approved, you can begin executing your plan. You will receive the financial contribution from the municipality, and you and your fellow residents can get started. Make sure to keep receipts and document your activities.

Step 5: Share your results

After completing your initiative, we ask you to share the results with us. This can be done through a short report, photos, and a story about how it went. We love to showcase successful initiatives to inspire others!
